Can an American exchange student choose a school or location?
According to the US Government Decree, all international exchange students who enter public high schools cannot choose the school because they are not international students. Students will be issued by an agency commissioned by the US Government to a government approved quality school. If student wish to have a say in the area they will be placed, the following needs to be considered.
Choose the geographical area of the school:
To choose which geographical area of the US you prefer will cost an additional US$1000. This allows the student to choose if they want to go to the Eastern, Southern, Western or Central part of the US. If the agency failed to locate the student to preferred geographical area, a refund will be issued and a new placement will be made by the agency.
Choose the preferred state of the school:
To choose which state of the US you prefer will cost an additional US$1500. This allows the student to choose 3 preferred states. If the student does not get placed in one of the 3 preferred States, a refund will be issued and a new placement will be made by the agency.
All States included except Hawaii and Alaska.
